New policies adopted, December 2009

The Board has also adopted the following related statements, guidelines and policies:

New policy for assessment of non-prescribed qualifications for dispensing opticians

At its meeting on 29 January 2010, the Board approved a new process for people who do not hold a prescribed qualification for registration as a dispensing optician.  This process applies to all applications received on or after 1 April 2010.  The policy document can be viewed here.

New fee structure

After consultation, the Board has also adopted a new fee structure, which will apply to all fees for applications relating to the period on and after 1 April 2010 (including APC fees for the 2010-2011 financial year).

Strategic Plan

In February 2009, the Board approved its first three year Strategic Plan.  You can view this document here.  The Board welcomes feedback, via its office, on the Strategic Plan.
